Jonathan Tan, CEO and Co-Founder of Coreshell, discusses the company's innovation in battery technology and the importance of domestic supply chain security:

Silicon Anode Innovation: Coreshell uses patented technologies to replace traditional graphite with metallurgical silicon (MGS) in battery anodes, solving technical issues like particle expansion while creating a lighter, more efficient battery.

Reducing Foreign Reliance: The current global battery supply chain is heavily dependent on China, which controls nearly 95% of the world's graphite supply; Coreshell provides a path toward supply chain sovereignty by using abundantly available U.S. materials.

National Security & Defense: Beyond consumer electronics and electric vehicles, Coreshell's technology is vital for national defense, especially as private and public sectors look to comply with FEOC (Foreign Entity of Concern) regulations starting in 2028.

Scaling Manufacturing: The company recently secured a $50 million Department of Energy grant to build the first U.S. gigafactory dedicated exclusively to silicon anodes, marking a transition from research and development to commercial production

Commitment to Impact: Tan emphasizes that his personal mission is to drive positive impact, through both the technological advancements of Coreshell and by training a skilled domestic workforce for the next era of industrial manufacturing.
